Luxury stargazing at The Farmhouse (Moon Event)

The Farmhouse is blessed with beautiful night skies and we are delighted to offer our ‘Gaze & Graze’ evening combining a sumptuous outdoor dinner with an evening with your very own expert astronomer, Richard Darn.
The North York Moors National Park is one of England’s darkest areas and spectacular on clear nights! You will see up to 2,000 stars and the majestic Milky Way arching over-head together with star clusters, galaxies and spectacular shooting stars. It’s perfect for just sitting back and enjoying one of Mother Nature’s finest shows.
The first phase moon is due to be up until late evening and so there will be plenty to see.
What you need to know
Our star packages are open to both non guests and guests who are staying in one of the estates cottages (min. 2 night stay) *
Wrap up Warm
We will provide a wonderfully warming meal, from our party barn, with the comfort of heaters. However, the star gazing is mainly done outside, and even with external fire pits and plenty of blankets you will need to wrap up warm.
7 til 8.15pm - The Dark Sky Gazing Begins......Richard Darn will talk you through the nights sky, navigating the stars and moon with the help of his telescope.
8.15 - 9pm Beef Bourguignon, with Roasted Root Vegatables followed by a Selection of Hot Steamed Puddings & Custard! Accompanying glass of wine. A sit down meal at long tables in The Barn**
9pm til 10.pm A more informal hour to talk with Richard Darn, take stunning imagery on your own smart phone (through the telescope) or simply lie down with blankets and binoculars to enjoys the nights sky.
9.00-10pm Help yourselves to Hot Drinks & Toddies and toasted marshmallows.

Cost
£45 per person
All our star gazing evenings include Canapes, a hearty meal with wine and one of our delicious Farmhouse Pudds, finished with homemade marshmallows, hot chocolate and a generous tipple for non drivers.
There is a strict 30 day cancellation policy
